Barn Quilt Instruction Guides.

The Alabama Barn Quilt Trail [LINK]
This website has the best description for creating a barn quilt using the Aluminum Composite Sheets (instead of plywood). In talking with this group for several months, they have shared their tips and wisdom leaned well over time.

The Complete Barn Quilt Creation & Painting Guide by Rose Mapel  [LINK]
This book is an excellent guide that takes you through the complete process of creating a barn quilt on plywood or MDO. It has plenty of photos to guide you and lots of examples.

Create a Barn Quilt by Laurie Searle [PDF]
This little guide was created from the wisdom of others by a member of the Chatt Hills Barn Quilt Trail. It includes a list of materials and sources for making barn quilts.

Barn Quilt Addiction: Resource Guide for Beginner to Experienced Barn Quilt Artists by Talara Parrish [LINK]
A comprehensive book that includes an instructional section with tips and resources for painting a barn quilt; and an extensive pattern section that shows several color pallets for each pattern, and well as instructions for drawing the pattern.

Encyclopedia of Pieced Quilt Patterns compiled by Barbara Brackman [LINK]
Another great resource book chocked full of patterns. The current edition is in black & white, but the new edition scheduled for release on Dec. 1, 2020, will be in color.

5,500 Quilt Block Designs by Maggie Malone
[LINK]

This beefy book has nothing but quilt blocks plus all of their common names. It is a great resource for inspiration and for researching the names of existing quilt blocks.

Quilt-Pro Software Program [Link]
Intended as a program for cloth quilters to help them design, print, and calculate fabric for their quilts, Quilt-Pro has an extensive "Block Library" with designs you can select, color, or create on your own. This is valuable for people who like to play around with the colors of the Barn Quilt before making a final choice. It also lets you print the grid designs, which is useful when drawing your barn quilt.

Electric Quilt Software Program [Link]
Similar to Quil-Pro, Electric Quilt has a more extensive "Block Library" and is a bit more feature rich, but also a little less intuitive to learn.
