Home is where . . . the heart is

As you travel a country mile south of Chattahoochee Hills and round the bend on Roscoe Rd, a breath-taking farm emerges, perfectly positioned to capture the heart with its idyllic charm.
Known as Three Hearts Farm, this charming property is the home of Meredith Wilson, who after raising her family there, now co-hosts painting workshops in The Studio School at Three Hearts Farm.
When selecting a barn quilt design, Meredith knew it had to have heart, so she chose a traditional star pattern and requested a large heart in the middle. She named it, “Home is Where the Heart is" in honor of this special place.

The art . . . of scenic views

Three Hearts Farm has seen many transformations from the time the property was part of a parcel of land won by William D. Light in the Georgia Land Lottery in 1827. The home had several owners before it was inhabited by the Sewell family. Many Sewells settled in Roscoe. This family’s most famous member was Hetty Jane Dunaway Sewell who created the nearby
Dunaway Gardens, a beautiful nature conservatory and theatre, that is currently being restored.
Meredith Wilson, the present owner, has lived here since 1982. It was purchased to be developed as a horse farm. At that time, multiple barns were built to house as many as 27 horses. Two children grew up here. They, along with their mother, Meredith, chose the name for the farm.
In recent years, it has been the location of “The Studio School at Three Hearts Farm” where Meredith and her partner in the venture, David Boyd, Jr., have hosted multiple painting workshops. Horses moved out of the barns and were replaced with art galleries, family wedding venues, and art classrooms. Now two grandchildren are making special memories here. Several movies have been filmed on the property and in the home.
Meredith is honored to display the quilt design created by Laurie Searle on her barn. She loves the inclusion of the heart in the pattern, because this beautiful spot is where her heart resides.
